Sorry--I have to run kids around town. Maybe I can post more tomorrow.
Those are all such great pics- I so wish I hadn't gotten rid of my PC catalogs, but at that point I had no clue Mattel took over or anything...

Thank you Deborah, what a treat to see those pictures again, it used to be a joy to look at those catalogs. I can remember pouring over them with my girls, way before they were old enough for the dolls or could read, but these were like picture books to them. Thanks for sharing, Julie
I will try to get some pix posted -- I have a gazillion catalogs and some really old ones.
Thank-You for the pictures! I appreciate it!
I have always loved the dream like quality of those sweet dreams collection photos. I always wanted to be that girl on Kirsten's page.
The picture that has all three collections made me realize something about the beds: they were never intended to tuck the dolls into. At that point, Kirsten didn't even have anything to cover up with. Molly's bed is not great for it, and while it's doable with Samantha's, it looks silly. Later beds were designed better for that activity, and Kirsten's works well with her quilt, so no wonder Molly's bed gets more complaints today.
Whoa, those are the OLD ones before they had desks! Very old school!
...Wait, signed dolls?
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Yeah, for $95 dollars you got the "collectable doll" which was signed and numbered by Ms Rowland on it's stomach, and came with a cert. of authenticity. There were about 2-3000 signed before they stopped offering that. They are worth about $1000 today.Originally posted by Nethilia:

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">This makes me laugh...my almost 7 year old daughter is cutting up catalogues to make an American Girl I-Spy page, LOL. Fortunately, these are duplicates. Ten years from now, I may regret letting her do this, though!Originally posted by zap_sea:
This is making me really wish I had kept those instead of cutting them up to make collages. But I was seven.
